Ben Johnston

Treasurer

Ben is a creator. He works to build new venues and events that provide opportunities for musicians, artists, makers, shakers, philanthropists and patrons to come together and do what they do best. Born and raised in Canberra, he is an ardent supporter of the ways in which the city is transforming and growing into it’s own unique and quirky skin. Over the last 25 years Ben has worked in a range of hospitality settings from big clubs, to small bars, beachside margarita stands, pop up juke-joints, on the festival circuit and in his own backyard, and understands the importance of social gatherings and places that bring communities together in good times and bad. Ben joined the MusicACT Committee in 2020 and brings his business acumen and experience to the role of Treasurer.
