MusicACT Appoints New Program Manager, Billy Bianchini
Canberra music industry body MusicACT appoints rising music industry artist manager to key music industry development role.
Billy will drive ACT music industry growth by delivering an exciting program of professional development events and workshops for musicians and music industry workers.
Billy has already worked hard to grow the ACT music scene with his burgeoning artist management agency Warm Water overseeing the meteoric rise of Canberra bands ARCHIE and Sputnik Sweetheart and driving the recording releases of Slow Dial, Groovy Daughter and Hope Wilkins.
Over 4,000 people have attended MusicACT professional development workshops and events since the program kicked off in 2019. MusicACT has also helped inject an astounding $1,000,000 into the music sector since Covid began. MusicACT continues to advise and support artists careers, bolster Canberra’s live music venues and advocate policies to grow our Night Time Economy.
Billy says:
“I’m beyond excited to start working with MusicACT. I can’t thank the MusicACT committee enough for placing their trust in me to continue the great work of outgoing Program Manager Joel Tyrrell.”
“My first project as Program Manager is delivering MusicACT’s inaugural State of the Territory hosted by Canberra music icon Chris Endrey. The event will celebrate the resourcefulness and resilience of our music scene, especially through Covid, but foremost it will be a music industry listening and sharing time. We are inviting everyone who cares about our industry’s future to have a say, and so together we can do something about it.”
“Beyond this event, my vision for MusicACT’s professional program is to focus on strengthening our scene’s capabilities, while continually fostering connections between the ACT, national and international scenes, always building our industry’s people and their unique culture of creativity and collaboration. Above all I’m honoured to work closely with our industry’s astonishing artists and passionate music industry workers''.
