Luna Ryan to design and make MAMAs Awards

This year, the MAMAs awards are again designed and made by Luna Ryan.

Luna Ryan is a well known Canberra based glass artist, with an art practice spanning more than twenty years, having graduated from the ANU Glass Department in 1990.

Ryan is one of the very few glass artists in Australia to use recycled television screens to create her glass art pieces. She exhibits locally and nationally and since 2004 has an ongoing artistic collaborative relationship with Tiwi artist Jock Puautjimi.
Works from this collaboration can be viewed in the National Gallery of Australia's permanent collections.

Her own works are in the collections of the ANU, UC, CMAG and Wagga Wagga National Glass Art Collection. At present, Ryan works and teaches from the Canberra Glassworks.

For the production of the MAMAs awards, Luna wishes to thank Renewable Processes and MRI e-cycle solutions for their donations of the screens. Also the following artists for their help and contribution in production: Melinda Willes, Mel George and Peter Nilsson.
