GOAL

MusicACT's mandate is to advocate and promote Canberra's music culture. MusicACT provides access to all aspects of the music industry including legal advice, assistance to launch outside of the ACT or advance a music related concept, as well as political advocacy.

GIL MILLER

Gil has worked for governments in early days and for himself for the past 30 years.  He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Board member of the Australian Hotels Association. His personal interest in a wide variety of music, his concern at the decreasing number of music venues and the increasing number of rules associated with music in the ACT has led him to gather like-minded individuals to form MusicACT.

PETER BAYLISS

A qualified Chartered Accountant, Peter has been involved in the Australian music industry for the past 18 years in a number of roles including performer, artist manager, booker, promoter, event manager and label owner. He has worked with local, national and internationally renowned artist and has held Board roles including Chair of the Music Managers Forum Australia, Radio 2XX, and Australian Association of Social Workers.

JULIA WINTERFLOOD

Julia has been the editor of Canberra’s music and arts street press, BMA Magazine, for three years. She is the manager of one of Canberra’s most successful contemporary bands, Fun Machine, and also assists many local musicians with publicity.

DAVID CAFFERY

David is an established event manager with a focus on contemporary and fusion music. After founding uniVibes in 2007, he has facilitated a diverse range of innovative events, managed an underground club in the city, manages the Goji Berry Jam Fusion Band, and is preparing to launch a mid-sized music and arts venue.

JACQ ROLFE

Jacq runs THE SLOG, a professional networking site and resource for touring artists, managers, venues and other industry services. Her passion is bringing practical advice and information to the music industry that will help facilitate people's growth and development as contributors to the Arts.

SARI NURMI

Sari works in a key event management company and has a strong passion for music in the ACT. These traits intertwine to provide MusicACT with generous and useful support.
